My friends, girlfriend and I drove down from Toronto to Pennsylvania for the weekend and our first stop was at Gionvanni's. It was a seat your self service, but once settled a server will be right with you. I believe our server's name is Christian?
While we were seated we "hacked" into their guests' wifi by using their business phone number to gain access. There is no posting around to notify others of password for their guests, well none from we could see.
My girlfriend checked-in to the place to receive one free cannoli, we were offered one for each person. We were very thankful.
My girlfriend and I split on the meal since it was massive. We ordered the ricotta and spinach panza. It was delicious. The only thing missing to go with it, well dipping sauce. Maybe it's a new generation thing.
They don't accept MasterCard but all other form of payments will suffice. -

Back in April, I did a road trip down to Pennsylvania for the weekend. Our first stop when we arrived was Giovanni's. We looked up a bunch of restaurants before heading on our trip and this restaurant made it on to our list.
When we arrived, we thought we would be seated down by a host but really you just sit anywhere you want. Our server Christian introduced himself and gave us recommendation on what to eat when we asked for help. I happened to check in onto Yelp and they offered a free Cannoli. BLESSED. I love Cannoli. Christian hoked my friends and I up with a Cannoli per person, so it is less awkward for just me.
While we were waiting for our food. We decided to hack onto the wifi (seriously though, it is just common sense what the password is). It is their business number. We felt brilliant to be honest.
I split my meal with the boyfriend - the ricotta and spinach panza - personally it missed the mark for me. Everyone else loved their dishes though.
We paid one bill to make it easy. MasterCard is not a suffice form of payment but every other form of payments should work just fine. -

Update: I'm moving this place from 2 stars to 3 stars. Yes, i do feel like the prices are a bit much, but the portions are also pretty incredible. I wouldn't mind paying more reasonable prices for smaller portions, I don't need to get two meals out of every entree I order here.
I think we still prefer just ordering out rather than dining in here. Some tables are cramped and uncomfortably wedged very close to other tables, to the point where I can hear too much of their conversations. Last time we dined in, the wait staff was better, so that's good.
The pizza here is great, chicken Caesar salad is well-seasoned chicken, and the chicken stromboli is a beautiful, doughy, chicken and cheese filled joy. It's no Nonna Giovanna's, but it's closer and that counts for something. -

I used to live 2 minutes from Giovanni's and would get take out frequently. The orders were accurate, prompt and delicious! The other night I went for a sit down dinner and sadly did not have the best experience.
First, the booth's table was too high and large for the space. Our bodies were crammed into the table- my grandmother had a bum shoulder and was so uncomfortable we asked to move to a regular table. While we had more space, the room was way too small for all the booths and tables. The waitresses were even having a tough time getting around to tables and it wasn't uncommon to have multiple someones bump into you while you were trying to eat.
We waited for 20 minutes before a waitress noticed no one took our drink order. She asked another waitress who was supposed to take care of our table and the woman replied, "Ugh I don't know, ask the hostess". She said this right in front of us, walking off without even trying to fix the situation. I know they were busy but that level of rudeness in front of customers is unacceptable.
The original waitress who took our drink order apologized and took our food order. She came back with the salads quickly but it was a good 30 minutes before we received our entrees (we only ordered 2 for the 3 of us and they were both pasta). The room was noisy and cramped which made for a less than relaxing experience.
My pasta with sausage and peppers was delicious, a semi sweet red sauce with spaghetti al dente and perfectly cooked sausage. The food is tasty but the service leaves much to be desired. They need to do some retraining as well as pay attention to the details, like the comfort of their guests. We will stick to take out from now on.
